Data protection in The EFTA Surveillance Authority

The EFTA Surveillance Authority has adopted new rules for the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data. The rules can be found in College Decision 235/16/COL, which came into force on 1 January 2017. In accordance with Article 42 of the Decision, over the course of 2017 the EFTA Surveillance Authority brought its processing operations into conformity with the new rules on data protection.

The EFTA Surveillance Authority is committed to fulfilling this Decision in all its processing of personal data. To safeguard this commitment, the EFTA Surveillance Authority has an agreement with the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS), whereby the latter will ensure ESA's compliance with the Decision.
