2018 Moot Court in Norway
The 2018 EEA Law Moot Court Competition held in Oslo on the 10-11 March 2018.
In March 2018 the EEA law Moot Court took place in Oslo, Norway with six teams from the University of Oslo and University of Bergen participating. The Moot Court was a great success and one team from each school participated in the final on Sunday in Gamla Festsal at Oslo University.
After fierce competition, Team one from Oslo, Elen Ingrid Cornelia Botten, Haakon Rønn Stensæth, Malene Juliette Drabløs Myreng, Ada Gimnes Jarøy, are the 2018 Moot Court winners.
The Moot Court competition prize is an intensive VIP study visit to Brussels and Luxembourg. Over the course of a week, the competition winners will get the chance to see behind-the-scenes at ESA, the EFTA Secretariat, the European Commission and European Parliament, the EFTA Court and the Court of Justice of the EU. This week includes expert workshops and in-depth discussions with judges and officials, and of course all travel, accommodation and meals will be paid for.
Jessica Lutgens was the Best speaker of the Moot and will travel with them to Brussels.
ESA would like to thank all the participants for a very successful weekend. Every team made vast improvements in their advocacy skills over the course of the weekend and the competition was very even.
We would also like to thank Henrik Bull, Supreme Court Justice, who was the president of the Moot Court, Europastyret and Juristforeningen at Oslo University for their organisation and the Faculty at Oslo and Bergen for their collaboration and organisation.
