PR(07)10: Iceland fails to incorporate legislation on fertilisers
The EFTA Surveillance Authority has decided to send a reasoned opinion to Iceland for failure to incorporate into its legal order Regulation (EC) No 2003/2003 on fertilisers, as amended. Fertilisers meeting the requirements of the Regulation may be labelled "EC Fertiliser" and can circulate freely within the EEA. Iceland had until 9 February 2005 to incorporate the Regulation.
Issuing a reasoned opinion is the second stage in infringement proceedings. The EFTA Surveillance Authority could take the matter to court if Iceland fails to produce a satisfactory reply within two months of receiving the reasoned opinion.
