Late incorporation: Final warnings given to Norway and Iceland

3.10.2012

PR(12)62

Today, the Authority delivered three reasoned opinions to Norway and one to Iceland concerning their failure to make the following regulations part of their internal legal order:

Norway:

  • Regulation (EC) No 1222/2009 on labelling of tyres with respect to fuel efficiency and other essential parameters
    Incorporation deadline: 11 February 2012
  • Regulations (EC) No 1152/2010 and (EC) No 761/2009 on registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals (REACH))
    Incorporation deadlines: 11 February 2012

Iceland:

  • Regulation (EC) No 1222/2009 on labelling of tyres with respect to fuel efficiency and other essential parameters
    Incorporation deadline: 11 February 2012

A reasoned opinion is the second stage of the infringement procedure. The Authority can bring the matter before the EFTA Court if the State fails to comply with the reasoned opinion within two months.
