Late incorporation: Final warnings sent to Iceland

10.10.2012

PR(12)65

Today, the Authority delivered four reasoned opinions to Iceland concerning its failure to make the following regulations part of its internal legal order:

  • Regulation (EC) No 1060/2008 on a framework for the approval of motor vehicles and their trailers, and systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
    Incorporation deadline: 11 February 2012
  • Regulation (EC) No 385/2009 on a framework for the approval of motor vehicles and their trailers, and systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
    Incorporation deadline: 11 February 2012
  • Regulation (EC) No 631/2009 on type approval of motor vehicles with regard to the protection of pedestrians and other vulnerable road users.
    Incorporation deadline: 11 February 2012
  • Regulation (EC) No 371/2010 on a framework for the approval of motor vehicles and their trailers, and systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
    Incorporation deadline: 11 February 2012

A reasoned opinion is the second stage of the infringement procedure. The Authority can bring the matter before the EFTA Court if the State fails to comply with the reasoned opinion within two months.
