Late implementation: Final warnings sent to Iceland

Today, the Authority delivered two reasoned opinions to Iceland concerning the late implementation of the following directives:

  • Directive 2010/19/EU on adaptation of technical progress in the field of spray-suppression systems of certain categories of motor vehicles and their trailers
    Implementation deadline: 11 February 2012
  • Directive 2007/46/EC establishing a framework for the approval of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles
    Implementation deadline: 11 February 2012

A reasoned opinion is the second stage of the infringement procedure. The Authority can bring the matter before the EFTA Court if the State fails to comply with the reasoned opinion within two months.
