Meeting with Icelandic Prime Minister at the Authority



Today, the Prime Minister of Iceland, Mr. Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson, visited the EFTA Surveillance Authority.

Mr. Gunnlaugsson and his entourage, were received by Helga Jónsdóttir, Acting President of the Authority, Frank Büchel, College member, as well as representatives from each of the Authority‘s departments.

The objective of the meeting was to engage in constructive dialogue about various aspects of the EEA Agreement and of the Authority‘s role and responsibilities.

“It was our pleasure to receive the Prime Minister and to have the opportunity to discuss the EEA Agreement and the Authority's role with him and his co-workers. We welcome the interest and focus on the EEA by the Icelandic Government and look forward to further conversation and cooperation,” said Helga Jónsdóttir after the meeting.
