PR(05)34: Kristján Andri Stefánsson becomes new College Member
On 1 November 2005 Mr Kristján Andri Stefánsson took up his functions as a Member of the EFTA Surveillance Authority College. Mr Stefánsson takes over the Icelandic seat in the Authority’s College after Hannes Hafstein, who regrettably passed away in August.
The Governments of the EFTA States have appointed Mr Kristján Andri Stefánsson a Member of the Authority for the remaining part of 2005 and for a period of four years with effect from 1 January 2006. Mr Stefánsson leaves the position of Ambassador at the Icelandic Ministry for Foreign Affairs, External Trade Department.
The Authority’s College has decided on the following allocation of portfolios:
