29.6.2005

29 June 2005

The EFTA Surveillance Authority today decided that the sales of the University Library building and part of the adjacent property in Oslo do not contain state aid.

The Norwegian authorities notified the Authority of the sale of the University Library building in Oslo from Statsbygg to Entra Eiendom AS at a price of NOK 120 million (approximately Euro 15 million), and of the sale of a part of the adjacent property from the University of Oslo to Entra at a price of NOK 30.75 million (approximately Euro 3.8 million).

The Authority has concluded that since the sales took place at market value, they do not constitute state aid within the meaning of Article 61(1) of the EEA Agreement.
