PR(07)38: The Authority authorises modifications of Norwegian support for research and development

The EFTA Surveillance Authority approved yesterday amendments to a Norwegian programme of financial support to Centres for Research-based Innovation (CRIs). The original scheme was already subject to the Authority’s Decision No 38/07/COL adopted on 27 February 2007 (see PR (07)05). The principal objective of funding the CRIs is to promote research, development and innovation as well as encourage co-operation of public research bodies and private undertakings in research projects.

The changes concern the increase of the exact number of CRIs from 10 to 14 and, directly related to a higher number of aid recipients, the raise of the yearly budget from NOK 100 million to NOK 140 million (approx. EUR 17 million).

The decision will be published in the EEA Section of the Official Journal of the European Union and the EEA Supplement thereto. Moreover, for information purposes, the decision will also be published on the Authority’s website:
